Decision making is over-rated!
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

- Decision Managing is Under-rated. This comes from one of our items from John C Maxwell, and I absolutely agree with him! I totally believe that it’s not in the choosing of the partner that we guarantee a happy marriage (although it does have some relevance), but the work we put into managing that decision (relationship) after it has been made.

Lets go through our schedules and rate our tasks in order of importance today;
1. Most Important
2. Somewhat Important
3. Least Important

When prioritizing, there are some important things to consider;

Consider your goals (what are you trying to achieve?)

Delegate what you can - which things can no-one else do?

Decide on today’s “MAIN EVENT”. Everyday must have ONE “Main Event”!

Something else to consider when prioritizing is the three ‘R’s

• What is Required of me?
• What gives me the greatest Return?
• What is Rewarding to me?

Take the time to do this – You’ll be so glad you did!

My boy is 4!
Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Today was Josiah’s 4th Birthday. He’s so very proud of himself for being so big! Everywhere we go, he tells people that he’s “4 now!” We took him up to 2BKids play centre this afternoon along with a few of his friends. By the time we left there, it was after 7pm and we were all starving.

We took the opportunity (and the risk) to take them to a nice Italian restaurant, our favorite in fact “Luna Rossa” at Tugun. The food there is the best I know of in Italian dining, it’s also the ONLY Pizza my husband enjoys!

The risk paid off, and the kids were really well behaved. Nothing like Pizza and spaghetti Bolognese to keep a bunch of rowdy young boys quite! Maybe it helped that they’d just spent the last 3hrs expelling energy…

Lessons in Management
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Lesson 1:
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when ! they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out.
The Genie says, ‘I’ll give each of you just one wish.’
‘Me first! Me first!’ says the admin clerk. ‘I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.’
Puff! She’s gone.

‘Me next! Me next!’ says the sales rep. ‘I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.’

Puff! He’s gone.

‘OK, you’re up,’ the Genie says to the manager.
The manager says, ‘I want those two back in the office after lunch.’

Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 2:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, ‘Can I also sit like you and do nothing?’
The eagle answered: ‘Sure, why not.’

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

The value of Empower Your Life Club has just improved again! A heap of new videos have been added to the site for members to access whenever you are ready!

Just this morning I reviewed a video interview with Jenny & Gary Leather. These guys have had incredible success in the property market. Their journey has not been without its hurdles thou! On top of experiencing the mind blockages that we all encounter on our journey to wealth, they have supported their 16yr old son through a battle with cancer.

Dispite all their potential excuses they purchased 30 properties in their first 18mths! Their advice is “Don’t hold Back – Just get started”!

Gary talks quite a bit on the power of setting goals and how to set them in a relaxed mindset, be specific about what you are going to achieve and stick with it. He advises to Set a small goal, see for yourself that it works, then continue the process with bigger goals!

Being a married couple, they have really worked together and drawn on each others strengths in their moments of fear and discomfort. I think this is really key in any relationship, its all about supporting eachother!

These guys have a lot of really worthwhile things to say – take the time to watch this video during the week. And while you’re at it – Why not leave a review on the item yourself!

Have a great Tuesday!

Don’t slow down too early, or else…
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Last week I shared with you a video of a great victory in ice skating.

Today I want to carry that theme, this time in the motor sport arena and bring you another example of the importance of finishing well. This guy had victory within his grasp, yet slowed down just a moment too soon!

Don’t think it needs any further explaining – if a picture says 1000 words, a video says ???

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie set record
Monday, August 4th, 2008

Three weeks after the twins were born, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s $14 million baby photos have been released.

“the biggest exclusive of the year” appears today on the website of UK magazine Hello! Pitt and Jolie are shown fawning over tiny Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, who are wrapped up together on a bed.

Hello and US glossy People reportedly paid $US14 million for exclusive rights to the photos, making them the most expensive celebrity snaps ever taken.

The money was more than double the $6 million paid for Jennifer Lopez’s twins in March.

Jolie and Pitt will reportedly donate all royalties from the shoot to a charity that helps disadvantaged children around the world.

I say good on them! Why not?

I just got some gorgeous portraits done of my two little kiddies this week by the way. Would you believe I had to pay the photographer to do the work, and then I had to pay to have the photos printed!!! What a contrast!

Thinking Logically - cont…
Friday, August 1st, 2008

Did you think outside the box?

Allow me to re-set the scene for you,

You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when
you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car.

Think before you continue reading This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first.

Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back.

However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

So… what would you do?

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer.

He simply answered: “I would give the car keys to my old mate and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.”

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations.

Never forget to “Think outside of the Box”.
