I met Lisa McInnes-Smith
Monday, December 15th, 2008

What an amazing Woman! Lisa McInnes Smith was our guest speaker at a recent Womens Event at Lifeworx Tweed Heads.

Lisa Mclnnes-Smith was raised in a family of Sporting Professionals, Through her teen years her two brothers played the International Tennis Circuit, and her father has always been, and still is, at the top level of Seniors in Australia, All through those early years she was determined to understand why some people succeed while others do not.

This determination inspired her to pursue Tertiary Education, specialising in Sports Psychology and Human Performance.

Successful in her career pursuits, this special lady felt a call on her life to make time in her busy Corporate life to get serious about helping improve the lives of others. Always committed to goal setting and achievement, she developed a simple and effective process of performing at her own peak level. Her first goal to directly help others was the development of a cassette recording to help her friends, and the children of her parents’ friends, to set and achieve goals.

Being a lady of few words, this message of encouragement and achievement quickly became two cassettes, and an 80 page workbook! As is so often the case when you set your eyes firmly on a goal of helping others, you are the one most blessed. Through a series of wonderful opportunities, this goal setting program quickly became a National best-seller. This program could very well be the most widely used goal-setting and inspirational program of its type in Australia today. ‘Why Wasn’t I Told?” is the rather appropriate name for her program, and life for this special lady has taken an exciting new direction since she became a best-selling author.

In a relatively short time, Lisa Mclnnes-Smith has become one of Australia’s most loved conference keynote speakers. Right from the time that first program became available to the public, Lisa has accepted many invitations to speak to a wide range of audiences, including Boards of Directors, Sales Teams, Executive Managers, Service Providers, Entrepreneurs and Young Achievers.

Lisa’s commitment to helping others remains steadfast. She set herself what others thought to be a rather optimistic goal to positively influence one million Australian young people. Through her achievement of this goal, Lisa has written another six books, five of which are best-sellers. She has also had great opportunity to perfect her gift of communication from the platform. No matter if the audience is 20 or 20,000 each person will feel that Lisa is presenting especially to them.

How’s your Confidence?
Monday, November 3rd, 2008

So many of us lack the confidence we should carry, and my personal opinion of why that is… We’re not being true to ourselves! When we truly let our colours show it is unique and beautiful… We all have something to share – What is your gift?

Warning
This video has been known to cause the tear ducts to become unblocked – if you’re in a public place and not yet comfortable showing your emotions… I suggest you get over it, and allow yourself to be yourself!

The ‘L I T T L E’ things.
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

As you might know, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her alarm clock didn’t go off in time

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.

One of them missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.

One’s car wouldn’t start.

One went back to answer the telephone.

One had a child that dawdled and didn’t get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn’t get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone .. all the little things that annoy me. I think to myself, this is exactly where I am supposed to be at this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can’t seem to find the car keys, don’t get mad or frustrated; Someone is at work watching over you.

May you continue to be blessed with all those annoying little things and may you remember their possible purpose.

Why should we ask God “Why Me?”
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.

From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: “Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease”?

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

“The world over — 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis,
500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam,
50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals,

when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD ‘Why me?’.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD ‘Why me?’”

Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrow keeps you Human,
Failure keeps you humble and Success keeps you glowing,
but only Faith & Attitude Keeps you going…

Stay in an attitude of Gratitude!!!

Don’t slow down too early, or else…
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Last week I shared with you a video of a great victory in ice skating.

Today I want to carry that theme, this time in the motor sport arena and bring you another example of the importance of finishing well. This guy had victory within his grasp, yet slowed down just a moment too soon!

Don’t think it needs any further explaining – if a picture says 1000 words, a video says ???

Stay in the race!
Monday, July 28th, 2008

There is great truth in the phrase “never give up” and so many people give up moments before they achieve their victory.

Today I want to share with you a video to give you hope and inspire you!

The place: Salt Lake
The time: 2002 Winter Olympics
The star: Steven Bradbury

If only we knew how many times we’ve missed out on great things, just because we didn’t stick it out that little bit longer! How tragic!

What are you pressing through right now?

Remember that character is developed through our challenges!

Anyway, watch the video, and enjoy the victory!
