Celebrate Achievements!
A couple of BIG things in this months newsletter, so before go on with our personal update, I just want to give you a quick "heads up" that an exciting announcement which will affect your success is in the next section, below this one.
I love involving the family in everything we do, and this is especially true when we acheive new goals and successes in business. So this month as I rolled out my new information product, I couldn't think of anything better than to have my husband and children come with me to the Sunshine Coast and enjoy the day together as a family. My presentation was at a breakfast meeting which was such a beautiful set up for the rest of the day.
As you can see in the photos below, we enjoyed a walk on the beach, The Big Pineapple, The Ginger Factory & picked our own strawberries at Strawberry Feilds. It was such a special day of joy for us all.
Celebrate good times, come-on!

Looks like a big day of eating doesn't it? Well, that's because it was ;-)
Involving the children in what you do can be mutually beneficial. See, this is not just a fun day out, the kids were very aware that we were celebrating a new product launch and a new level of success in business. In this way, they learn that reward time or fun time follow periods of focused work time. They also help to hold you accountable to what you said you were going to get done.
What could you work toward with your family to create benefits for all involved?

Scientists do not completely understand how memory functions in the brain. They’ve got a pretty good idea, and have been hard at work trying to build computers that could replicate the functions of a human being.[1]
Why? Scientists want to ‘uncover all the elements of the human memory system in order to get a better understanding of its encoding and retrieving processes.’ If they manage to build one of these computers, they would be able to help us all improve our memories.

Here’s the jargon: ‘the hippocampus, the amygdala and close areas of the temporal lobe are associated to the cortex with the help of complex nerve cells. This actually forms the fundamental structure of our memory system. When a nerve cell in the brain gets activated, a low-charged electrical potential is sent to the axon. This helps in releasing brain chemicals or neurotransmitters, which attain across the synaptic gaps between nerve cells and bolt onto the corresponding receptors. The nerve cells that obtain the brain chemicals then send the signal along to other relevant nerve cells.’
In other words, your brain already functions like a computer, and memories are the equivalent of saved data. That means that memory not only serves to help us remember our first kiss, our first trip to another country, or our first home, it also helps us learn. When you learn something, all you’ve really done is memorize it. Then your brain accesses the same data whenever necessary, and updates it according to the situation.
If scientists could replicate a human brain’s functions, they would discover how memory functions in relation to things like learning, which means that schools and businesses could adapt their teaching styles to ensure maximum efficiency. Furthermore, we would be able to locate memories buried in specific events by tracing the brain’s pathways, which means we would be able to deal with them much quicker.
It would be great for science, even better for personal development.

Tribes aren’t a new social concept; however generational changes in relationship values have altered the meaning of tribes in our lives. We are delaying marriage longer than any generation in history, cohabitating later and moving jobs episodically forcing weak-tie relationships, and a stronger reliance on the ‘urban tribe’ of close friends. Join Dr Jackie Black, internationally recognised relationship educator and coach, and Ethan Watters, journalist and author of ‘Urban Tribes’, in a fascinating discussion of the trend of ‘urban tribes’ and their impact on our relationships.
